The technology team within elciem has experience gained from working with many of today's major equipment and system manufacturers both within the electronics and pharmaceutical sectors.  These include several of the top 10 chip manufacturers, 3 of the top 5 mobile device manufacturers, and several component and support system suppliers.  Given the ever increasing move to cheaper labour territories, the majority of this work has been in Eastern Europe and Asia.

The sector is varied but typically involves a high concentration of value (property and profit) in a small area.  In addition to this and the inherent hazards associated with several of the manufacturing processes, the continued consolidation of companies and operations has resulted in increased single site exposures.  Customer dependence and the reluctance of some insurance markets to provide competitive cover means that businesses must make every effort to identify and manage their exposures effectively.

Examining these exposures in isolation is not sufficient to identify the risks presented.  Only through a tailored location to corporate review process can the true picture be revealed and the risks understood.  elciem has the expertise and understanding of these industries to be able to add value and reduce the cost of risk to many of the companies we have worked with.
